Ashkahn Shahparnia wears many hats—illustrator, stationer, winemaker, and unapologetic bon vivant—and somehow makes them all look effortless. His distinctive design work has been featured in Interview Magazine, Paper Magazine, The New York Times, and Taschen, earning him a 2011 nomination for Print Magazine’s Top 20 Under 30. His internationally distributed line of greeting cards and stationery carries his signature wit and visual charm to lovers and dreamers everywhere.
In 2020, Ashkahn turned his creative energy toward the vineyard, debuting “Lou,” a 2020 Chardonnay from Stolpman Vineyards. Since then, he has devoted himself to natural winemaking in Santa Barbara County, approaching wine with the same artistry, curiosity, and irreverence that define his design practice.
His enduring passions include bananas, Amadeus, mezcal, the poetry of Charles Bukowski, the saxophone of John Coltrane, and—most importantly—his wife, Melissah, and daughter, Ivy. Ashkahn lives and works in Orcutt, California, where creativity and fermentation continue to happily coexist.
